                                                              Beware of Fraudulent Calls for Early Withdrawal of MPF

                                                              There have been many discussions on early withdrawal of MPF assets on the grounds of "permanent departure from Hong Kong". It came to our attention that some fraudsters claimed they could help customers arrange withdrawal of MPF assets, thereby obtaining handling fee and requesting customers to sign on unknown documents in some cases.

                                                              BCT Group hereby reminds customers and the public to remain highly vigilant and not to provide any personal information to third parties or conducted any financial transactions with any handling fee.                                                               A “regular employee account” is an MPF account of which the primarily mandatory contributions and any voluntary contributions are paid in respect of any current employment of a member of an MPF scheme.

                                                              A self-employed person ("SEP") is a person who earns income from the production of or trade in goods or services in a capacity other than an employee. If you are a sole-proprietor of or partner in a business, you are regarded as an SEP under the MPF System. If you are an SEP at least 18 but under 65 years of age, you have the legal obligation to enroll yourself into an MPF scheme.

                                                              A “causal employee account” is an MPF account of which the primarily mandatory contributions are paid in respect of any person who works in the construction industry or the catering industry on a day-to-day basis, or for a fixed period of less than 60 days.
